About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate, and reliable Chef to join our team at The Waves Club Elliott Heads.

This is a casual position offering approximately 15–20 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours as required.

Working as part of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering quality meals to our members and guests while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and safety.

The role will primarily involve Friday and Saturday night shifts, along with split shifts on Sundays, making this an ideal opportunity for a Chef looking for consistent weekend hours within a friendly and community-focused venue.

Key Responsibilities

As Chef, you will:

- Prepare and cook quality meals to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and meets venue expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with stock control and minimise food wastage.




- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach during busy service periods.
- Follow recipes, preparation procedures, and kitchen standards.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and team-focused kitchen culture.
- Be available to work Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday split shifts.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- A genuine passion for quality food and hospitality.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Flexibility and reliability with weekend availability.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is preferred.
- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is preferred.
