ON THE HOUSE A gap that shouldn't exist

Toilet paper is free in every bathroom. Period products aren't.

3 in 5 Australian women have used tissues, toilet paper or socks because the product they needed wasn't there when they needed it. Not because it's expensive. Because nobody built the infrastructure to put it in front of her.

At the same time, brands are spending more than ever to reach women, with worse results every year. $1 trillion a year on ads. Falling attention. Falling trust. Women control roughly 85% of household spending and most of that money is chasing them through channels they've learned to ignore.

Two broken markets. Nobody had connected them.

We did.

How it works ON THE HOUSE installs vending machines in high-traffic bathrooms that double as digital billboards.

Brands pay to reach women in a zero-distraction, high-gratitude moment. Those ad dollars fund free, organic period products.

Every interaction is a two-way exchange: she walks away with something free and useful, and brands walk away with brand lift, clear attribution, and a world-first kind of data: consented, transparent, verified, every time.

We're already live in venues like Accor and Hyatt Hotels, Dendy Cinemas, Dreamworld, Village Roadshow, and Revelop Shopping Centres.

We're working with iconic brands like Afterpay, Frontier Touring, 2XU, and Pillow Talk.

And this is just the beginning. Join now and you're getting in on the ground floor of something that's about to get a lot bigger.

The Role Our Chief of Staff’s mission is build the backbone of ON THE HOUSE while it's still in motion. This is not a system that you will inherit and maintain, it is one you build from nothing while the whole company is already leaning on it.

ON THE HOUSE moves fast, with high conviction, and there's more opportunity in front of us than there are hours in the day. Our team's capacity is the constraint. Clarity on what actually matters, right now, is the thing that matters most.

We are looking for someone to focus on multiplying the impact of the team. Someone who understands our vision and our strategy, and can help the whole team point at the right things, moving at the right speed.

Over the next six months, we're bringing on ~20 people. The business won't slow down while that happens, quite the opposite. Machine installations, venue partnerships, advertising sales, hiring, and building our product will be ramping up at once. While everyone else is focused on the growing business,

your job is to build the connective tissue behind the scenes. We need someone that runs toward that chaos and builds the internal systems and the people systems to make that happen.

Six months of success in this role looks like: decisions are made efficiently, the right goals are set, nothing important slips through the cracks, and our newly built team, and our brand recent leadership team, are functioning exceptionally.

We're open to shaping this role around the right person, not the other way around. Depending on what you bring, this could take a few different shapes in the future, and the scope and level can move with you.

This is a senior, hands-on seat at the leadership table, reporting directly to our CEO.

⏰ Timing: Start in October

? Location: Melbourne, hybrid office and WFH

? Applications close 30th August

What You'll Own People & Culture

- Own hiring end to end for our biggest team build so far, working closely with the leadership team on who and how
- Build real onboarding: structure for the first 90 days and for the probation performance check-ins
- Set the performance approach as we scale
- Own building our team culture, including the office culture for our Melbourne office as we open it

AI-Native Business Operations

- Build out business operations the way a company should in 2026: AI-forward, not process for its own sake
- Build the connective tissue that stops things falling through the cracks, and spot the gaps before they become fires

Company and Leadership Operating Rhythm

- Be part of the leadership team: keep decisions moving and make sure nothing important gets dropped
- Own cross-functional cadence and decision-making as we go from 5 people who all have full context to a business with real inter-team dependencies

Strategy & Focus

- Help shape where we're driving to, and frame our strategy into clear goals with the team
- Keep those goals visible, and hold people accountable to them
- Work with the leads to make sure the company is moving in the right direction, at the right speed

What We're Really Looking For Must-haves

- Comfortable owning people & culture end to end: hiring,

onboarding, ways of working, performance
- Already building with AI, and using the newest tools/features/models to build out business operations
- A track record of aligning a leadership team and keeping things from falling through the cracks
- Based in Melbourne (or willing to move), and keen to be present in our office (Richmond/Cremorne)

The kind of person you are

- Builds while it's live: Nothing here is finished yet, including the plan. You're fine building it while it's running, it's where you thrive.
- Multiplies, not just executes: You measure your week by what the people around you got done, not by what's ticked off your own list.
- Builds with the frontier, not just talks about it: You use the newest AI tools daily, and you build with them. You'll show us something you've made, not just tell us about it.
- Reads the room before you speak in it: You notice tone, energy, and what's underneath it, and you adjust how you show up accordingly.
- Notices the thing everyone else scrolled past: Nothing feels rushed or generic when you're the one in the room. You catch the small stuff, the follow-up that didn't happen, the detail that makes someone feel looked after rather than processed.
- Owns the whole machine: If something's broken, you don't wait for someone else to fix it. You work out why, and you own it end to end.
- Learn-it-all: Being wrong doesn't bother you. Staying wrong does. You learn faster than the problem changes.
- Clear beats clever: When a leadership team is stuck weighing up a decision, you're the one who can lay it out simply enough that everyone actually gets it, rather than reaching for the most impressive-sounding answer in the room.

Where This Could Go This role is being built around the right person, not a fixed title or level.

A few directions it could take:

- Own our internal functions. People & culture, finance, legal, business operations, investor relations.
- Go deep in one function. Kick it off, own it through the build phase, then fully own it as we scale.
- Full ownership of company strategy and strategic projects. Drive where ON THE HOUSE goes next alongside our CEO and the leadership team, spinning up whatever's needed next to execute it.
