Role Description This is a full-time, in office Citrix Specialist role based at Footscray Hospital in Melbourne, VIC.
The Citrix
Specialist will manage, maintain, and optimize Citrix environments, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of virtual desktops and applications. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving Citrix-related incidents, performing root cause analysis, and providing advanced technical support to clinical and non-clinical staff. The role involves working closely with infrastructure, network, and application teams to ensure stable, secure,
and high-performing systems that support critical hospital operations.
The Citrix
Specialist will also contribute to IT service management processes, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong Citrix ecosystem skills, including experience with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and related virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex technical issues in large, mission-critical environments.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support within healthcare or similarly regulated settings.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components, such as servers, storage, networks, and virtualization platforms.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management frameworks and practices (e.g., ITIL) and experience working with ticketing and change management systems.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Citrix, Microsoft, or virtualization-related certifications are highly regarded.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
