Position: Youth Support Worker (Casual)
Location: Ipswich, QLD

We are seeking Youth Support Workers who are genuinely willing and committed to providing high‑quality care, even when the work is challenging.

This role is about showing up with intention, being present, accountable, and genuinely invested in young people’s wellbeing, growth, and future.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Building protected, trusting, and respectful relationships with young people

- Providing day‑to‑day care, structure, and emotional support in the home

- Supporting young people to develop life skills, confidence, independence, and positive identity

- Responding calmly and professionally to distress, behaviours of concern, and emotional needs

- Supporting connection with family, culture, school, and community

- Working collaboratively with team members, Team Leaders,



families, schools, and external services

- Maintaining clear, accurate, and timely records, recognising documentation is a part of quality care

- Being a positive role model who demonstrates consistency, boundaries, and care

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

- Minimum 1 year experience working with young people

- A genuine willingness to provide high‑quality care

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport

- An understanding of trauma‑informed practice and child‑centred care

- A respectful, culturally safe approach when working with First Nations young people

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

- Willingness to receive feedback and engage in reflective practice

Other requirements:

- Current driver’s licence

- Willingness to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check

- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
