About the Role:

We are looking for a casualRecreation and Lifestyle assistant for our Cherrybrook aged care facility.

As a Recreation and Lifestyle Assistant you will play a pivotal role in delivering programs that assist our residents in building social engagement and personal development. Using your strong interpersonal skills, you will create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes active participation.





Working closely with our Recreation and Lifestyle Coordinator you will deliver great programs, promote engagement, and create a safe and comfortable environment for the participants whilst observing dignity of risk methodology. You will be joining a supportive and inclusive team of professionals, where you can contribute meaningfully to the facility community and make a real difference to our residents’ lives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the planning and delivery of engaging recreational and social programs

- Build positive, supportive relationships with residents

- Help create a vibrant, inclusive, and enjoyable environment

- Contribute to resident wellbeing through companionship, conversation, and participation in activities

- Be the friendly face that brings joy and enrichment to the lives of our residents

- Work with volunteers providing them with support and directions as required

- Assist with maintaining documentation of activities and therapies according to Aged Care legislation requirements

About You:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the below:

- Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent OR be willing to get one.





- Demonstrated experience in an Aged Care environment and an understanding of the current Aged Act and Strengthened Standards.

- Highly organised and able to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks.

- Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

- Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite.

- Highly motivated and able to take initiative.

- Excellent communication style, ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels to build relationships and support elderly Residents.

- Willingness to undertake a psychometric skills assessment.

- NSW driver’s licence and confidence to drive groups of people (preferred).

- Cleared Police Check.

- Be cleared in the Aged Care Banning Order register.

- MUST have proof of work rights in Australia.

- Up to date immunization including influenza and Covid 19.

- Experience working with Dementia clients (desirable).

- Senior first aid.
