Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Assistant to join the Virtual Emergency Department.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role
The Clinical Assistant role performs a variety of administrative and clinical data entry functions within the Virtual Emergency Department (VED) to assist in the smooth running and management in line with the NH vision, our commitment,
legislative and regulatory requirements and quality standards to a benchmark of best practice.
The position will be rostered to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays throughout the year, in
4–6-hour shifts between 8AM to 2AM. Preference will go to candidates who can work weekday, daytime hours.
This role is responsible for:
- Monitoring registrations and reconciling patient information to ensure registered consumers have correctly joined their consult
- Identifying and supporting callers who have registered but have not managed to join the telehealth link
- Identifying callers who have used old links to join the telehealth consult and have not been registered correctly
- Following up missing details from patients
- Collecting medical history from patients prior to their clinical consult
- Assisting with data collection for auditing and quality purposes
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of software and highly developed computer literacy skills
- Proven ability in adaptable and flexible thinking
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
- Well-developed communication skills
- Vision and values aligned in all aspects of the role
- Experience in healthcare (Previous admin work or study) (Essential)
