Role Description The Clinical Exercise Physiologist will provide individualized, evidence-based exercise assessment and prescription to support clients with acute and chronic conditions, including cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and metabolic health issues. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting thorough clinical assessments, designing and supervising cardiac rehabilitation and general rehabilitation programs, monitoring client progress, and adjusting interventions as needed. The role involves collaborating with other allied health practitioners, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and educating clients on safe exercise techniques and lifestyle modifications.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Werribee, VIC,
with a mix of onsite clinical work and some work-from-home tasks such as telehealth consultations, program development, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Exercise Physiology, with the ability to apply clinical knowledge to diverse client presentations.
- Demonstrated experience in Exercise Prescription and Rehabilitation program design, including individualized, goal-oriented interventions for chronic conditions.
- Competence in Pulmonary, Cardiac and Cancer Rehabilitation, including assessment, risk stratification, and supervised exercise for cardiovascular conditions.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Exercise Physiology or a related field, with accreditation or eligibility for accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist.
- Current registration or eligibility with appropriate professional bodies (e.g., ESSA) and compliance with AHPRA-related standards where applicable.
- High-quality communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients from diverse backgrounds and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage caseloads, maintain accurate clinical records, and use digital health or practice management systems.
- Current CPR certification; professional indemnity insurance; experience in private practice, community health, or similar settings is desirable.
