About the role
Mater Hospital Infusions Centre is searching for an experienced Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent part-time basis working 24hrs per week based at our South Brisbane campus.
A typical week in this role is patient centred, uses clinical problem solving, adopts effective communication and time management, manages up to date clinical notes and scheduling information and contributes to multidisciplinary teamwork.
Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you’ll be doing
You will support the Day Infusions Unit by coordinating patient flow, conducting assessments, administering infusions, delivering education, planning discharges, and assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with leadership, clinical, and operational functions to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Coordinate patient flow and manage assessments
- Administer infusions and provide patient education
- Plan and support patient discharge processes
- Assist Nurse Unit Manager with leadership and clinical responsibilities
- Manage human and material resources within the specialty
- Initiate problem-solving and contribute to staff development
- Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities
About you The successful candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. You will be approachable with a mature and confident attitude, capable of working independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team.
This role offers a leadership opportunity and clinical skills in Infusion Therapies are highly desirable. Peripheral cannulation and CVAD skills are required.
- Minimum of two years full-time equivalent clinical experience in area
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and share knowledge with less experienced staff
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
While not essential, applicants who currently have or are studying towards a tertiary qualification within this clinical specialty would be highly regarded. Why join us?
