Role DescriptionThe Cloud Engineer will support the development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role involves working with cloud platforms, infrastructure resources, networking components, security controls, storage systems, and application environments to help maintain reliable and efficient cloud operations.

Key responsibilities include assisting with the configuration and management of cloud resources, supporting virtual machines, containers, storage, databases, networking services, and identity management components. The role will also contribute to infrastructure automation, system monitoring, performance optimization, backup processes, and operational improvements.

The Cloud Engineer will work closely with technical teams to support cloud deployments and ensure that systems are configured according to established technical and security requirements. Responsibilities may include assisting with deployment activities, reviewing system alerts, troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues, maintaining technical documentation, and supporting routine cloud administration tasks.

The position also involves helping implement Infrastructure as Code practices, automation workflows, CI/CD processes, and standardized deployment procedures. The successful candidate should be comfortable learning new cloud technologies, following technical procedures, investigating issues methodically, and contributing to continuous improvements across cloud environments.

Additional responsibilities may include monitoring system availability and resource utilization, assisting with access management, supporting cloud security controls, reviewing logs, maintaining configuration records, and helping identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology,



Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related technical field.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts, including compute, storage, networking, databases, identity management, and cloud security.
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Basic understanding of virtual machines, containers, serverless services, and cloud-based application architectures.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems and basic system administration concepts.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and common software development workflows.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated deployment processes.
- Ability to monitor cloud environments, review logs, identify configuration issues, and follow structured troubleshooting procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when managing configurations, permissions, infrastructure resources, and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of cloud security principles, access controls, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure configuration practices.
- Ability to work with technical documentation, follow established procedures, and communicate technical information clearly.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to investigating technical issues.
- Willingness to learn new technologies, cloud services, automation tools, and infrastructure practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, development, security, and operations teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical tasks while maintaining accuracy and reliability.
