The Role

Join our caring team, dedicated to helping clients create lasting changes in their lives.

We are seeking a proactive and relationship-focused Community Care Worker (CCW) to strengthen referral pathways, enhance stakeholder engagement, and increase community awareness of our residential treatment and support services. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in connecting people with life-changing support while collaborating with hospitals, community agencies, government services, and other key stakeholders.

As a Community Care Worker, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic referral partnerships, promoting service awareness across the community, supporting referral agencies through the intake process,



and identifying opportunities to expand access to treatment and support services.

This is a highly visible role requiring excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills, alongside a solid understanding of the community services, mental health, and AOD sectors.

- Community Awareness & Promotion
- Referral Support & Intake Assistance
- Partnership & Service Development
- Data Collection & Reporting

This is a Fixed-term, Full-time (38 hours per week) position until August 2027 based in Cairns.

About you To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Alcohol & other Drugs, Mental Health, or similar
- Experience in developing and delivering comprehensive individual and group programs to support individuals recovering from drug and alcohol dependencies, as well as their families.
- Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society.
