We are seeking an experienced CPA-qualified Accountant to act as a trusted adviser to the Director, overseeing accounting, taxation compliance, property portfolio management and investment administration across a group of private entities. This is a highly autonomous role requiring a trusted professional who can oversee accounting, taxation compliance, property administration and investment-related reporting.
This position offers significant variety and would suit an experienced accountant who enjoys working closely with decision-makers and taking ownership of outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS and GST returns
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities
- Monthly management reporting and financial analysis
- Cash flow forecasting and monitoring
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and investment accounts
- Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors
- Coordinate annual financial statements and tax returns
- Ensure ongoing compliance with taxation and regulatory obligations
- Monitor lease agreements, rent reviews and critical dates
- Coordinate property maintenance and contractor engagement
Property Portfolio Management
- Monitor lease agreements,
rent reviews and critical dates.
- Coordinate property maintenance and contractor engagement.
- Review property performance and operating costs.
- Liaise with tenants, property managers, Body Corporates, agents and solicitors.
- Assist with acquisitions, disposals and settlement activities.
- Maintain property compliance and documentation records.
Investment & Business Support
- Prepare financial models and investment analysis as required from time to time.
- Assist with strategic financial planning and budgeting.
- Manage confidential financial and business information.
About you
- Current CPA qualification (essential)
- Minimum 5+ years' accounting experience
- Solid understanding of Australian taxation requirements
- Experience preparing BAS and managing GST compliance
- Advanced proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and make sound commercial decisions
- SMSF, trust and investment accounting experience
