Part-Time Oral Health Therapist or Hygienist - Orthodontics

Key Responsibilities
Initially, the role will focus on the safe and effective debonding of orthodontic appliances. As your skills, experience, and confidence develop, you will be supported to expand your scope of practice and play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the clinic. Over time, you will become a trusted clinician who can confidently manage clinical workflows and help lead the clinical team.
Your other responsibilities may include:
- Assisting the orthodontist with orthodontic treatment appointments
- Fitting orthodontic appliances, including braces, expanders, aligners, and retainers
- Monitoring patient progress and conducting review appointments
- Providing oral hygiene instruction and patient education
- Performing 3D intra‑oral scanning, clinical photography and radiography
- Attending to orthodontic emergency appointments
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified as an Oral Health Therapist / Hygienist with current AHPRA registration allowing potential scope of practice to include orthodontics
- Ideally experienced in private practice (orthodontic experience highly regarded but not essential)
- Warm, friendly, and confident with patients of all ages
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Positive team player, eager to help colleagues in working in a small team
- Organised and reliable
- Proactive and eager to learn new clinical skills
- Comfortable working independently as needed
- Great hand skills and attention to detail
