Role Description The Data Governance Manager at Ultra Academia will oversee and refine data governance frameworks to ensure data is accurate, secure, and used responsibly across the organization. In this part-time remote role, the manager will define and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures, partnering with teams to align data practices with regulatory and institutional requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring data quality, coordinating data stewardship activities, documenting data definitions and lineage, and supporting master data management initiatives.

The role also involves analyzing data-related issues, recommending corrective actions, and providing guidance and training to stakeholders on data governance best practices.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated expertise in Data Governance, including developing and implementing policies, standards, and stewardship practices.
- Strong experience in Data Quality, with the ability to design controls, monitor data accuracy, and manage remediation efforts.




- Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex data sets, identify trends and issues, and propose data-driven solutions.
- Solid background in Data Management, including data lifecycle oversight, metadata management, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with Master Data Management practices, tools, or frameworks to maintain consistent core data across systems.
- Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations and best practices (e.g., FERPA, GDPR, or equivalent, depending on jurisdiction).
- Proficiency with data tools or platforms (e.g., SQL, data catalog tools, BI solutions) and comfort working in a remote, digital workplace.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels and across disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant certifications in data governance or data management are a plus.
