About the role

SMILE COLLECTIVE HEALTH is seeking a dynamic and experienced Dental Team Trainer to join our growing organisation on a contract basis. Based in Narellan, NSW, this role is pivotal in developing and enhancing the skills, knowledge and professional capabilities of our dental teams across our facilities.

As Dental Team Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating comprehensive training programmes that ensure our dental professionals maintain the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient care and safety. This is a strategic role that directly impacts the quality of services we provide to our patients and the professional development of our team members.

Key responsibilities

- Design, develop and deliver tailored training programmes for dental clinicians, hygienists, therapists and support staff across clinical and non-clinical areas
- Assess training needs through consultation with dental teams and senior leadership to ensure programmes are relevant and evidence-based
- Conduct one-to-one and group training sessions, utilising a variety of teaching methods and learning technologies
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery through assessments, feedback and performance metrics
- Create and maintain comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, videos and digital resources
- Maintain detailed records of training attendance, competency assessments and professional development progress
- Stay current with developments in dental practice, clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements to ensure training remains relevant and compliant
- Provide mentoring and coaching support to team members to facilitate continuous professional development




- Collaborate with clinical leads and management to identify training gaps and develop improvement strategies
- Support the implementation of new procedures, technologies and clinical protocols across dental teams

What we're looking for

- Recognised qualification
- Minimum 5 years Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring or education within a dental or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of dental clinical protocols, infection control, occupational health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex clinical concepts clearly and engage diverse audiences
- Proven ability to develop engaging educational materials and adapt training delivery to different learning styles
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Proficiency in digital platforms and learning management systems
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams and build positive relationships
- Preferred experience: Training delivery in a multi-practice or corporate dental environment, or formal qualifications in adult education or training delivery




- Job is contract based and it will be offered on a 6 monthly contract basis which could be renewed based on performance and converted into a full time role if required .
