Role Description The Service Director is a temporary, in office role based in Wanniassa, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an early learning or community service program. This role includes leading and supporting staff, managing rosters, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.

The Service

Director coordinates educational programs and activities, supports inclusive and safe environments for children, young people, and families, and fosters positive relationships with participants, carers, and external stakeholders. The role also involves monitoring budgets, completing reports and documentation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives,



and collaborating with other WCS teams to meet communi ty needs.

Qualifications

- Diploma-level qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care, with relevant experience in service coordination or leadership.
- Proven skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and performance management, including the ability to mentor and support diverse colleagues.
- Strong service delivery and program coordination skills, with experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities that support children, families, and community members.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to early learning or community services, including safety, quality standards, and safeguarding practices.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships with participants, families, staff, and external partners.
- Organisational and administrative skills, including documentation, reporting, basic budgeting, and effective use of digital tools and office software.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice and the values of a community-based, not-for-profit organization.
- Current Working With Vulnerable People (or equivalent) registration, first aid certification, and other relevant clearances or checks, or the ability to obtain them.
