We are now looking for a full time Design Assistant to join our HQ team located in Newstead, Brisbane.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Design Assistant, you'll provide hands‑on support to the Design team, helping keep the creative and product development process organised and moving forward. This is an opportunity to learn how a fashion collection comes together while developing your technical, creative and organisational skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support trend and competitor research and help create mood boards, colour palettes, fabric and trim references and other visual research for upcoming collections.
- Assist designers with CAD illustrations, colour‑ups and preparation of design information and specification packs under their direction.
- Help organise and maintain fabrics, trims, samples, imagery, drawings and other design resources so the team can easily access current information.
- Support sample management, including preparing for fit sessions, attending fittings and helping record and action design‑related changes.
- Assist with colour‑ups of existing and best‑selling styles as directed by the Design team.
- Support designers with research and preparation work for new styles, prints and capsule collections without holding independent ownership of range design.




- Maintain the Design inbox and help ensure relevant queries and information are directed or responded to promptly.
- Keep digital design files, images, drawings and working documents organised and up to date.
- Help maintain an organised Design workspace and provide general administrative support to the team.
- Work closely with the wider Design and Production teams to complete assigned tasks accurately and within required timelines.
- Work under the guidance of more experienced designers, gaining exposure to the different stages of fashion design and product development while gradually building capability and confidence.

ABOUT YOU:

- Creative, curious, open minded and adaptable, with a genuine interest in fashion and emerging trends.
- A basic understanding of garment construction and technical terminology, with a willingness to keep building your knowledge.
- Comfortable using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to support design work.
- Highly organised and able to keep samples, files and assigned tasks accurate and up to date in a fast paced environment.
- Cooperative, proactive and confident communicating with the Design and Production teams, while being receptive to direction and feedback.
- A qualification, current study or relevant experience in Fashion and Design is desirable, with enthusiasm to grow your career in a hands-on design environment.
