Mental Health and Dual Disability Support Worker (Multiple Locations)

Belonging Care is an NDIS provider specialising in person-centred disability and mental health support. We work with participants, families, support coordinators and allied health professionals to provide safe, respectful and high-quality support that promotes dignity, independence, choice and control.

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Mental Health and Dual Disability Support Workers to support a participant in multiple suburbs.

About the Role

You will provide bothcommunity-based and residential support, ensuring participants feel safe, respected, and empowered in their daily lives.

The successful applicant must be confident working in a structured support environment and be willing to complete participant-specific training before commencing shifts.

We have shifts available across multiple sites (Own Car is mandatory):

- Tarneit
- St Albans
- Berwick
- Cranbourne
- Officer
- Dandenong
- Mulgrave
- North Melbourne
- Ringwood
- Mt Martha
- Aspendale Gardens
- Footscray
- Mt Waverley
- Croydon Hills

Pay & Conditions:

SCHADS Award – Level 1 Pay Point 1 (L1P1), plus applicable penalties and allowances.

Key responsibilities include:

- Personal care and assistance with daily living, personal care, and independence skills.
- Providingemotional, recovery-focused, and trauma-informed support.
- Manual handling and transfers using a hoist.
- Assisting withpositive behaviour support implementationunder professional guidance.
- Supporting participant safety and comfort in the home
- Following care plans and clinical recommendations
- Bowel care, continence support and catheter-related support, where trained and authorised
- Documentation and progress notes
- Communicating professionally with the care team, family,



allied health professionals and management
- Following escalation procedures and reporting any concerns promptly

What We’re Looking For

Applicants must have:

- Strong availability across a minimum of 3–4 days per week, with full-day availability preferred.
- Flexibility to work across a range of shift times, including morning, afternoon, evening and/or weekend shifts where required.
- Willingness to travel to allocated participant locations, with your own reliable vehicle.
- Experience working with people withMental health conditions, ASD, psychosocial disability, or dual disabilities.
- Experience supporting people with disability in home or community settings
- Willingness to complete training on the participant’s specific hoist and transfer requirements
- A commitment toperson-centred care, dignity, and empowerment.
- Ability to follow care plans, risk plans and professional instructions
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Reliability, professionalism and a calm approach
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
- Qualifications inCommunity Services, Mental Health, Disability, or Social Work.

Highly Regarded:

The following experience will be highly regarded:

- Experience with high intensity supports




- Bowel care and enema support experience
- Continence care experience
- Experience working with allied health recommendations, including OT, physiotherapy or continence nurse plans
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services or equivalent

Training and Onboarding:

Belonging Care is committed to ensuring staff are appropriately trained and supported before commencing participant-specific shifts.

Successful applicants may be required to complete:

- Participant-specific induction
- Hoist and manual handling competency training
- High intensity support training, where relevant
- Competency sign-off by an appropriate clinician, such as a continence nurse or allied health professional
- Review of participant care plans, safety requirements and escalation procedures
