This role is in the Forest Policy & Projects team, Protected Area Strategy & Investment, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships. The primary purpose is to provide operational leadership and management of a small project team that will develop forest and conservation policy responding to, and influencing, the development of statewide timber policy, and the development of a framework (or policy options) that support the transition of state forest to protected area. This position will work within the Department and across government to direct the development, implementation and review of policy initiatives that support government priorities and provide expert policy and planning advice regarding forest conservation and management.
This position is also required to provide leadership and operational support for native title and traditional owner engagement.
