About the role The Mad Fish is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dishwasher/Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. Based in Yeerongpilly, QLD, this role is essential to the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining areas. As a Dishwasher/Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital part in maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and kitchen efficiency.

This is a hands-on position that directly supports our chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring they have clean equipment and ingredients prepared to create exceptional meals for our guests.

Key responsibilities

- Operating commercial dishwashing equipment and hand-washing dishes, glassware, and cutlery to maintain strict hygiene standards
- Preparing and organising ingredients for kitchen staff, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and other food items
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment, including floors, benches, and storage areas
- Assisting with food preparation tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff
- Removing waste and managing rubbish disposal in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking kitchen supplies and utensils as needed throughout service
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
- Following all food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain health and safety standards

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a dishwasher, kitchen hand, or in a similar hospitality role
- A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy items
- Reliable, punctual,



and willing to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A positive attitude and enthusiasm for hospitality
- Basic food safety knowledge or willingness to obtain food safety certification
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure during busy periods
