Make a meaningful difference in the lives of women andchildren impacted by family violence.

As a Family Safety Contact Worker, you will providespecialist family violence support to victim-survivors whose partners or formerpartners are engaged with Meli's Men's Family Violence Services. Working withina feminist, trauma-informed and safety-focused framework, you will play acritical role in risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and coordinatedservice responses that prioritise the safety, wellbeing and empowerment ofwomen and children.

As a Family SafetyContact Worker, you will:

- Provide specialist telephone-based familyviolence support, including risk assessment, safety planning, crisisintervention, advocacy and emotional support to victim-survivors.
- Monitor, assess and respond to familyviolence risk in accordance with the MARAM Framework, ensuringvictim-survivor safety remains central to all interventions.
- Collaborate with Men's Behaviour ChangeProgram staff, The Orange Door, Child Protection, police and other keystakeholders to support coordinated and accountable responses to familyviolence.
- Facilitate access to legal, housing,health, financial and community supports while empowering victim-survivorsin their recovery and safety planning.

What We’re Looking For

Wevalue individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles.To succeed in this position, you will have:





- Holds a Bachelor Qualification in Social Work(or equivalent under Victoria’s Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirementsfor Family Violence). - Experience in the specialist family violencefield, demonstrated particularly in provision of intake, risk assessment andcase planning and working with victim survivors of family violence.
- An understanding of the gendered nature offamily violence and the impact upon women, children, and families and abilityto specifically identify and work against collusion and minimisation of malefamily violence
- Well-developed observational, conceptual andanalytical skills, together with highly developed interpersonal andcommunication skills including written mediums to assist with programdevelopment, data collection, evaluation and key stakeholder engagement
