Clifton Street Children’s Centre (CSCC) is a not-for-profit, community-managed long day care and kindergarten located in the heart of Northcote, Melbourne. We provide high-quality early education and care for children aged 6 months to 5 years, with a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusion and community engagement. Our 81-place centre comprises four thoughtfully designed learning spaces and three outdoor yards.

Located alongside expansive ovals and green spaces, our natural surroundings provide valuable opportunities to extend children’s learning, exploration and connection with the community. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our team as a Co-Teacher in our 3-Year-Old Kindergarten Program, commencing as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced ECT who enjoys cooperative teaching, educational leadership and building strong relationships with children, families and educators. At CSCC, child safety is paramount.

The successful applicant will share this commitment and demonstrate a solid understanding of their responsibilities in promoting and maintaining child safety. Working alongside another ECT and the broader kindergarten team, you will contribute to the planning, delivery, evaluation and ongoing development of a high-quality 3-Year-Old Kindergarten program.

You will play an important role in creating an engaging, inclusive and responsive learning environment where children are supported to develop their strengths, interests and capabilities. The position is offered on a term contract until 18 December 2026, with the possibility of extension. ### Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will: Co-design, implement and evaluate a high-quality, play-based educational program aligned with the VEYLDF, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard. Place child safety, wellbeing, participation and empowerment at the centre of teaching practice.



Work collaboratively with the other ECT and educators to provide consistent and intentional teaching practice. Contribute to curriculum planning, documentation and evaluation. Observe, assess and document children's learning to inform curriculum planning and individual outcomes. Build strong, respectful and responsive relationships with children, families and carers. Support inclusive practices that respond to the diverse needs, strengths, interests and cultural backgrounds of children and families. Recognise, respond to and report child safety concerns in accordance with relevant legislation, the Child Safe Standards and CSCC policies. Contribute to the Centre's educational vision, Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement activities. Support a positive, collaborative and reflective team culture. Ensure the program operates in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards and Centre policies. Contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy, inclusive and culturally safe learning environment.

The successful applicant will bring: Demonstrated experience working as an Early Childhood Teacher, preferably within a funded kindergarten program. A strong and demonstrated commitment to child safety and child-centred practice. Strong understanding of the VEYLDF, National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards. A collaborative approach to curriculum planning and teaching practice. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A commitment to play-based, intentional and inclusive teaching practice. Strong organisational, documentation and time-management skills. A commitment to ongoing qualified learning, reflective practice and continuous improvement. The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team. The ability to contribute positively to a culture where children feel safe, heard, respected and empowered.

Approved Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification. Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. * Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
