Role Description The Education Assistant Secondary role is a temporary, full time on-site position located at HillSide Christian College in Forrestfield, WA.

The Education

Assistant will support secondary teachers in classroom activities, learning programs, and supervision of students to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with lesson preparation, providing individual and small group support, and helping maintain a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment.



The role involves supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development, including contributing to behavior management strategies consistent with the College’s Christian values.

The Education

Assistant will collaborate with teaching staff, communicate effectively with students and colleagues, and participate in school activities and events as required.

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Effective communication skills, including clear spoken and written communication appropriate for a secondary school environment.
- Relevant education or training in classroom support, learning assistance, or a related field, with experience in secondary education preferred.
- Experience working with children and young people, with an understanding of adolescent development and diverse learning needs.
- Skills in behavior management and supporting positive student conduct aligned with Christian values and school expectations.
- Commitment to the Christian ethos of the College and willingness to support its beliefs, values, and practices.
