THE ROLE Join our team as an Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with project teams, clients, contractors and suppliers to deliver safe, practical and compliant engineering solutions. You will be involved in all phases of project execution,
from feasibility studies and detailed design through to site commissioning and project close-out.
Duties include but not limited to;
- Assist in the design, development and commissioning of electrical, control and instrumentation systems, including MV/LV power distribution and motor control systems.
- Perform engineering calculations, protection coordination studies and technical analyses.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, equipment lists, reports and drawings.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, client requirements and company procedures.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical support for equipment selection and procurement activities.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues and deliver practical solutions.
- Participate in site inspections, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to technical innovation.
- Mentor and assist the development of graduate and junior engineers.
THE PERSON
- Minimum 5 years' of previous experience working within an engineering consultant environment.
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Industrial or Mining Experience is required.
- Australian recognised Electrical Engineering degree that satisfies the entry requirements for Chartered membership with Engineers Australia
- Proficient with PLC / Instrumentation and Controls / power systems software and LV control
- In depth knowledge of 'in-plant' electrical distribution (MV and LV systems) and motor control systems
- Experience in concept design and details design of electrical systems
- Must have proven experience leading projects and mentoring small teams
- A sound working knowledge of power system modelling
- Applied knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
- Knowledge of mining and process plants
- High level of attention to detail and documentation writing
