FULL-TIME PERMANENT

ANNUAL SALARY: $85K - $95K

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to install, configure, test, maintain and repair electronic equipment used in solar photovoltaic and battery storage systems.

The position works principally with inverters, charge controllers, battery management systems, meters, sensors, communications gateways and remote-monitoring equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Test electronic equipment and analyse fault codes, readings and monitoring data to identify system failures.
- Diagnose faults in inverters, controllers, battery management systems, meters, sensors, communications equipment and associated control wiring.
- Repair, adjust or replace defective electronic modules, components, connectors, sensors and wiring.
- Assemble, install, configure and commission electronic equipment used within solar and battery installations.
- Apply firmware updates, program operating parameters and calibrate equipment in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
- Establish and troubleshoot communications between inverters, battery systems, meters, gateways and monitoring platforms.
- Conduct operational and performance testing after installation, servicing or repair, including charge, discharge and backup testing where applicable.
- Read schematics, technical drawings, specifications and service manuals to determine job requirements.
- Undertake scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance of installed electronic equipment.
- Prepare work orders, test results, equipment records, photographs and other required job documentation.
- Explain system operation and basic fault-prevention procedures to customers at handover.




- Maintain issued tools, electronic test equipment, spare parts and stock.
- Assist apprentices and other technicians with technical matters where required.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and perform regulated electrical work only within the scope of licences and authorisations held.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

- A relevant AQF Certificate III supported by appropriate workplace training, AQF Certificate IV, or recognised overseas equivalent in electronics, electrotechnology or a closely related discipline.
- At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
- Trade-level experience testing, diagnosing, repairing, installing and commissioning electronic equipment and systems.
- Experience with inverters, battery management equipment, monitoring systems or communications hardware.
- Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings and manufacturer documentation.
- Competence using electronic test instruments and diagnostic software.
- Any licence, registration or accreditation required for the work assigned.
- Current driver's licence valid for driving in Queensland.
- Robust safety awareness, record-keeping skills and customer communication.

Desirable

- Manufacturer training or accreditation in solar inverter, battery or monitoring products.
- Experience with grid-connected, hybrid, backup or off-grid energy systems.
- Familiarity with field-service or job-management software.
- Experience assisting apprentices or junior technicians.

POSITION CONDITIONS

- Full time employment based at the Robina office.
- Regular travel to residential and commercial sites throughout Southeast Queensland.
- Company vehicle and mobile phone provided for authorised business use.
- Reasonable additional hours may occasionally be required, subject to prior approval.

ANNUAL SALARY: $85K - $95K
