About the internshipWe're looking for a Marketing, Business or Communications student who has almost completed their degree, or a recent graduate, to join us as an Email Marketing & Newsletter Intern for 4 months.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work on real email campaigns, newsletters and automated customer journeys for an established Australian eCommerce business. You'll primarily work with Klaviyo and get to see how email connects with customer behaviour, eCommerce and the wider marketing strategy.
You'll also have the opportunity to use and explore AI tools to make our email marketing smarter and more efficient, from research and content development to testing and optimisation.
What you'll be working on
- Planning, creating and scheduling email newsletters in Klaviyo
- Managing and improving automated email flows and customer journeys
- Writing engaging email copy, subject lines and calls-to-action
- Working with customer segments to create more relevant and targeted campaigns
- Analysing opens, clicks, conversions, revenue and other campaign performance
- Running A/B tests and using the results to improve future campaigns
- Finding opportunities for cross-sell, retention and customer engagement
- Using AI tools to support research, content creation, personalisation and campaign optimisation
- Helping develop customer journeys across our different product categories
- Making sure our emails feel consistent with the BetterCareMarket brand and website
- Collaborating with the wider marketing and eCommerce team on campaigns and current ideas
What we're looking forYou don't need to know everything already, we're looking for someone with a good foundation who is keen to learn and take ownership of their work.
Ideally, you'll have:
1. Strong writing and communication skills in excellent English
2. A genuine interest in email marketing, CRM and eCommerce
3. Good analytical skills and an interest in understanding what the numbers are telling you
4. An interest in AI and how it can be used practically in marketing
5. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
6. The confidence to work independently while communicating well with a small team
7. A willingness to experiment, learn and bring your own ideas
Experience with Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Canva or similar marketing platforms is a bonus, but not essential. What's in it for you? You'll get practical experience working on email marketing for a real Australian eCommerce business, not just hypothetical projects.
You'll work with Klaviyo, automation, customer journeys, segmentation, A/B testing, AI tools and real campaign performance data. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, see how your work performs and build experience you can talk about in future interviews and add to your portfolio.
We're a small, collaborative team, so good ideas don't have to come from the most senior person in the room. If you've got an idea, we want to hear it.
