What You Will Do
Working closely with Electronic, Mechanical, and Systems Engineers, you will develop cutting-edge products for our clients in the medical sector.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Hardware Control Software Development: Delivering across the full product lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, coding, debugging, documentation, unit testing, integration, and verification.
- Design & Reviews: Taking ownership of software modules and participating in rigorous design, code, and test reviews.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensuring adherence to quality processes and relevant medical product regulatory standards.
- Agile Delivery: Working within Scrum-based Agile methodologies and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to maintain software engineering best practices.
Skills and Experience required
- Hardware Control: Demonstrated hands-on experience in controlling hardware, with a strong focus on embedded devices.
- Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in at least one core language such as C, Modern C++, or C#/.Net, with an openness to learning new technologies and tools.
- Scripting: Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Lua.
- Engineering Foundations: Solid grounding in Object-Oriented Design and Implementation,
Configuration Management, and Continuous Integration.
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Competent problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively within a global multidisciplinary team and to communicate clearly with client representatives.
Qualifications: Degree-qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
Position Details: This is a full time, 12-month contract position based in Mount Waverley, Melbourne. We are ideally looking for candidates with a couple of years of post-university experience, though exceptional graduates with strong academic records will also be considered.
