Role Description The Senior Employee Relations Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area. This position is responsible for providing expert advice and support on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, grievance resolution, and workplace investigations. The advisor will work closely with managers, leaders, and HR colleagues to interpret industrial instruments, policies, and employment legislation, and to develop practical solutions that support fair and consistent people practices.

Day-to-day activities include preparing documentation and correspondence, supporting negotiations,



coaching leaders on employee relations issues, and contributing to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves building solid relationships across the organization and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.

Qualifications

- Strong employee relations expertise, including experience with performance management, grievance handling, and workplace investigations.
- Knowledge of employment law, industrial relations frameworks, and interpretation of awards, enterprise agreements, and HR policies.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence and coach leaders and staff.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, including capability to assess complex issues, manage risk, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Experience in stakeholder management and relationship building across multidisciplinary teams in large or complex organizations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in healthcare, public sector, or unionized environments is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and safe people practices, with the ability to work with diverse communities and staff groups.
