About Cultural Journeyz (Out of Home Care)
Our program provides crucial support to Aboriginal children and young people who require out-of-home care placements. We ensure their safety, welfare, and wellbeing, offering them a nurturing environment through Cultural Journeyz, with a solid focus on Safety, Collaboration, Quality, Self-determination and Culture.
About the Role
Full Time- 38 hours per week
On-Call Rotating Roster
Offices located in Cardiff, East Maitland and Singleton
In this position, you will be responsible for
- Providing support, supervision, and monitoring to a team of caseworkers
- Offer assistance to children and young people in out-of-home care and their carers.
- Be instrumental in identifying, establishing, and supporting placements for Aboriginal children and young people
Location
While the Cultural Journeyz Program covers the Hunter and Upper Hunter, Central Coast, Port Stephens, Newcastle, and Lake Macquarie for program delivery, the successful application has the flexibility to work across Muloobinba's Cardiff, East Maitland and Singleton Offices.
Position Requirements
- Confirmation of Aboriginality
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- Current Driver's License
- Participation in an on-call rotating roster
- Aboriginality is a genuine qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- This position is classified as child-related employment and is subject to relevant employment screening.
Remuneration
A remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award, with the annual salary ranging from $124K-$125K on Commencement plus superannuation, leave loading, and salary sacrifice.
Salary is based on experience and qualifications, and wages can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Application Criteria
- Relevant experience working with Aboriginal children and young people and their families in the statutory system
- Working knowledge of legislated requirements for out-of-home care, including familiarity with NSW Standards for Statutory OOHC guidelines and accreditation requirements
- Relevant experience in leading a team, including supporting, supervising, and monitoring casework
- Tertiary Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work or associated relevant field
