Western Hospital is seeking an experienced health practitioner to lead our Quality and Safety program. This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical governance, collaborate closely with senior leaders, and make a lasting impact on the quality of care we provide. With flexible permanent part-time hours, this role can be tailored to suit the successful candidate.
About The Role
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will provide quality, safety and incident management support and advice to our Management Team, the Board and our governance committees including:
- Ensuring the organisation has the capability and evidence to demonstrate commitment to delivering services against the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Monitoring incidents and feedback through the incident management system to ensure correct allocations, risk ratings and reporting.
- Developing and implementing policies and improvement programs in partnership with the teams that ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Develop and implement quality management strategies in partnership with clinical teams, monitoring outcomes and evaluating effectiveness.
- Analysing data, auditing procedures, surveying care providers and patients, and preparing reports including for the Clinical Governance Committee and Medical Advisory Committee.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen patient safety, clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitating training sessions for employees on quality improvement and safety practices.

Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in quality management, clinical governance or accreditation
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools and practices
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
- Demonstrated IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Highly Desirable Criteria:
- Registered Healthcare Practitioner
- Knowledge and experience of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
