Facilities Engineer – Data Centre Adelaide, SA | $130,000 – $170,000 + Super + Bonus

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join a leading owner and operator of mission-critical data centre infrastructure.

Reporting to the Director of Data Centre Operations, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the facility, ensuring critical building systems operate safely, reliably, efficiently and cost-effectively.

You will coordinate and monitor third-party service providers across maintenance, testing, faults and call-outs, ensuring works are delivered in line with SLAs, best practice and established KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the data centre
- Monitor and maintain electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire and BMS/EMS systems
- Coordinate contractors and service providers across planned and reactive maintenance
- Respond to operational issues, incidents and emergency call-outs
- Review contractor maintenance practices and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Conduct scheduled plant checks and minor maintenance works
- Manage work orders, permits, inductions and contractor documentation
- Maintain equipment registers, critical spares and facilities documentation
- Supervise small works and projects within the facility
- Support project delivery, commissioning, testing and handover activities
- Monitor critical infrastructure capacity and identify potential risks
- Assist with WHS, Business Continuity and risk management activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, procedures and industry standards





About You You will have a strong technical background and experience operating within a 24/7, mission-critical or high-availability environment.

Ideally, you will have:

- Degree or trade equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in engineering, facilities or critical environment operations
- Experience managing contractors, maintenance and service providers
- Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical infrastructure
- Mechanical experience with precision air-conditioning and BMS
- Electrical experience with UPS systems, generators, ATS units, switchboards and energy monitoring
- Knowledge of fire suppression, VESDA, EWIS and fire detection systems
- Experience with security systems and statutory compliance
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance

Previous data centre experience is highly regarded, although candidates from other critical environments such as healthcare, defence, industrial, utilities or telecommunications will also be considered. What's On Offer?
