- Full time ongoing position (part-time applications considered)
- Salary range: $95,187 - $104,924 plus super
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging, flexible hybrid work arrangement

About the roleIn this role, you will represent clients in various courts and tribunals, including Magistrates' and Children's Courts, and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. You will provide legal advice and casework in family law, child protection and family violence including intervention order matters. You'll also engage in community legal education and law reform projects and work with a collaborative team to improve client services. Travel to Moorabbin Justice Court is required.

This role is based at our Dandenong office on Bunurong Country.

About Dandenong officeThe Dandenong team is the largest regional VLA office providing legal services across criminal law, family violence, child protection, youth crime, family and civil law. A large team of Independent Mental Health Advocates and an Independent Family Advocate are based in the region. Legal services are provided across two Magistrates' Courts (Dandenong and Moorabbin), the Specialist Children's Court (Dandenong), the Drug Court, the Mental Health Tribunal, the AAT, VCAT and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

About YouAs Our Ideal Candidate, You Will Possess

- Ability to advocate in court and manage cases in one or more areas of practice predominantly in family law, family violence and/or child protection matters.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and external parties.




- A collaborative team player who values working together to achieve the best outcomes.
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
- Entitled to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners) (mandatory).
