Make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and children impacted by family violence.

As a Family Safety Contact Worker, you will provide specialist family violence support to victim-survivors whose partners or former partners are engaged with Meli's Men's Family Violence Services. Working within a feminist, trauma-informed and safety-focused framework, you will play a critical role in risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and coordinated service responses that prioritise the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of women and children.

As a Family Safety Contact Worker, you will:

- Provide specialist telephone-based family violence support, including risk assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy and emotional support to victim-survivors.
- Monitor, assess and respond to family violence risk in accordance with the MARAM Framework, ensuring victim-survivor safety remains central to all interventions.
- Collaborate with Men's Behaviour Change Program staff, The Orange Door, Child Protection, police and other key stakeholders to support coordinated and accountable responses to family violence.
- Facilitate access to legal, housing, health, financial and community supports while empowering victim-survivors in their recovery and safety planning.

Position Details

- Full-time, ongoing position
- Part time will also be considered
- $105,834 (pro-rata for part-time) p/a Super & Salary Packaging

What We’re Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

- Holds a Bachelor Qualification in Social Work (or equivalent under Victoria’s Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Family Violence).

- Experience in the specialist family violence field, demonstrated particularly in provision of intake, risk assessment and case planning and working with victim survivors of family violence.
- An understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the impact upon women, children, and families and ability to specifically identify and work against collusion and minimisation of male family violence
- Well-developed observational, conceptual and analytical skills, together with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including written mediums to assist with program development, data collection, evaluation and key stakeholder engagement
