About Action on Poverty For more than 60 years, Action on Poverty (AOP) has worked alongside communities to create sustainable pathways out of poverty.
We are a venture philanthropy specialist and impact accelerator, supporting scalable solutions that create lasting change across Economic Empowerment, Food, Water and Climate Resilience, and Health and Inclusive Development.
As we continue to strengthen our organisation and expand our impact, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead AOP's finance function and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, financial sustainability, governance and compliance across the organisation. You are a proactive finance professional who enjoys improving systems, partnering with stakeholders and helping organisations achieve their goals.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines financial management, business partnering, project finance, compliance and team leadership. You'll work closely with staff in Australia and Vietnam while supporting programs and partnerships across Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
What You'll Do
· Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
· Manage payroll, BAS,
statutory compliance and annual audits.
· Support project and donor finance across international development programs.
· Strengthen financial systems, controls and processes.
· Provide financial insight and advice to the COO, leadership team and Board.
· Build capability and support finance teams across Australia and Vietnam.

Selection Criteria
· CA or CPA qualification is required.
· Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
· At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in the NGO and international development sector is highly valued.
· Strong MYOB and advanced Excel skills.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
