Description
Summary: The Finance Officer (Payroll) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll within our financial services organisation. Based in Broome, Western Australia, this contract position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage payroll functions efficiently while adhering to compliance and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation by maintaining precise records and providing support to employees regarding payroll queries.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies.
- Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and accurate information.
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and summaries for management review.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of payroll accounts.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Support the implementation of payroll systems and processes to improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience (5+ years) in payroll, bookkeeping, accounts processing, or similar relevant discipline.
- Proficient interpersonal and communication skills to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Proficient organisational skills including ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to agreed specifications.
- Ability to work within a team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to actively contribute towards achieving NBY’s overall strategies.
- Proficient in Excel, word processing and computing skills including the use of Microsoft Office programs along with the ability to use document management systems.
- Advanced computer literacy and experience using business management and reporting systems.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence & National Police Clearance.
