Our client is a well-established Australian organisation operating nationally within the sector. Experiencing continued growth and transformation, the business is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract, with an immediate start available.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, cash flow analysis and ongoing process improvement across the finance function. This is a hands-on opportunity suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and contributing to a high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
- Assist with the monthly close process and ensure general ledger integrity.
- Prepare monthly management reports and supporting financial analysis.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Support statutory reporting and compliance requirements, including BAS, GST and tax-related obligations.
- Assist with external audit processes and prepare audit schedules.




- Contribute to cash flow reporting and short- to long-term forecasting.
- Drive process improvements and support finance system enhancements.
- Provide financial analysis and business partnering support to operational stakeholders.
- Assist with ad hoc projects, acquisitions and due diligence activities as required.

The Candidate

- CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion.
- Immediately available
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role.
- Strong month-end, financial reporting and reconciliation experience.
- Sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems capability.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a rapid-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Available to commence immediately or at short notice.
