Nurture Preschool and Early Learning Centre - West Wallsend NSW

Nurture Preschool and Early Learning Centre is seeking a Diploma Educator to join our dedicated team in West Wallsend NSW 2286. This is a part-time position three days per week from 8:30-3:00 on Monday and Tuesday and 8:30-4:30 on Friday. Would suit educator with school aged children as mostly school hours.

As a Diploma Educator, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care, fostering children's development, learning, and wellbeing in a supportive and nurturing environment. Your contributions will directly support our centre's mission to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating space where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

What you'll be doing

Planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences and activities that promote children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development

Supervising and supporting children in all areas of the centre, including indoor and outdoor play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times

Building positive relationships with children and families, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children feel valued and supported

Observing and assessing children's progress and development, documenting observations and communicating regularly with families about their child's learning and growth

Collaborating with colleagues and leadership to maintain high standards of care, cleanliness, and safety throughout the centre

Supporting children with routine tasks such as toileting, hand washing, dressing, and personal hygiene with patience and respect

Responding sensitively to children's emotional and behavioural needs,



implementing positive guidance strategies that promote self-regulation and social skills

Maintaining accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation

Participating in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to continually improve practice and knowledge

Following all Australian Early Childhood Education and Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation, including child protection and health and safety requirements

What we're looking for

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent recognised qualification

Current Working with Children Check (WWC) clearance or willingness to obtain one

Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings

Robust communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

A genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting children's development and wellbeing

Knowledge of early childhood education frameworks, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive, safe, and supportive environments for all children

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment





Understanding of child protection obligations and commitment to safeguarding children

Preferred experience working in early childhood education and care settings

Preferred knowledge of children with additional needs or diverse learning requirements
