Every student journey has moments that matter, and often the first person a student meets shapes how supported they feel from that point on. As a Student Support Assistant within our Student Wellbeing team, you will be that reassuring first point of contact for many students seeking assistance, providing professional reception, concierge and administrative support across multiple channels in an efficient, welcoming and trauma-informed environment.
This role places you at the heart of a team dedicated to student experience, wellbeing, accessibility and belonging. You will help students navigate University services, respond to enquiries, undertake initial triage in accordance with established risk protocols, and connect students with specialist staff so they can access the right support at the right time.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Care and Welfare, you will support the day-to-day operations of Student Wellbeing and help keep frontline services running smoothly. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Providing student-facing, phone and email reception services, and managing frontline enquiries in a welcoming, trauma-informed manner.
- Undertaking initial triage in accordance with established risk protocols.
- Assisting students with CARE form submissions and Accessibility registrations and guiding them to connect with appropriate university services and specialist staff.
- Delivering reception support to the Accessibility team across our Student Wellbeing offices (12SW and 18WW), including co-location as required.
- Responding to, or appropriately escalating, queries about Student Wellbeing and its activities.
- Gathering and organising data on the utilisation of support services and assisting with billing and accounts.
- Providing support to and setting up recent Student Wellbeing staff, and contributing to improvements in administrative systems, processes and procedures, while complying with relevant EEO and WHS requirements.

This role sits within the Office of the Pro Vice Chancellor, Dean of Students, which is responsible for student support services and the broader student experience including Student Engagement, Equity, Diversity and Belonging, Complaints and Misconduct, and Student Wellbeing Services.

Selection Criteria
- A qualification or equivalent experience in administration, customer service, business or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of customer service and/or administration processes and associated policies.
- Capacity to contribute to continual improvement and transformation initiatives in student support services.
- Experience undertaking complex administration functions within tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with key student support functions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated high-level proficiency in PracSuite and Microsoft Outlook, including efficient management of clinical/practice workflows, scheduling, correspondence, and calendar coordination is desirable.
***The successful candidate will be required to complete a Police Check and hold a valid Working with Children Check prior to commencing employment.
