About the role
An exciting prospect has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join the Allied Health team on a casual basis. The successful applicants will join our physiotherapy team covering a caseload of inpatients and outpatients including neurological, orthopaedic, amputee and geriatric rehabilitation, acute medical/ orthopaedic surgical patients and aquatic therapy.

Hunter Valley Private Hospital is located on the fringe of Newcastle and is close to the Pacific Motorway, vineyards and university. We are an independent 83 bed facility with a 5-theatre Operating Suite providing medical (geriatric and palliation), rehabilitation (inpatient and day only) and surgical services. Key Responsibilities
- Conducting initial assessment, re-assessments and discharge summaries
- Designing best practice exercise prescription
- Conducting education sessions
- Monitoring of patients throughout sessions
- Support members of the Allied Health team to provide high standards of clinical care to patients/families
- Work with the Allied Health Team to help patients achieve their goals
- Adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures
- Contribute to efficient and effective running of the department
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and occupational health and safety
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times
- Registration with AHPRA
- Demonstrated good communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
- Relevant clinical experience in hospital rehabilitation
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
