Forklift / Scrap Metal Yard Worker

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Forklift / Scrap Metal Yard Worker to join our team. The role involves forklift operation, moving and sorting scrap metal, loading and unloading vehicles, and general yard duties.

Key Responsibilities

1 Safely operate a forklift to move scrap metal and materials around the yard.

2 Load and unload trucks, trailers and customer vehicles.

3 Sort and separate different types of scrap metal.

4 Assist with weighing, organising and storing scrap materials.

5 Keep the yard clean, tidy and organised.

6 Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

7 Assist customers with unloading and directing vehicles when required.

8 Perform general labouring and yard duties as needed.

Requirements

1 Current forklift licence.

2 Previous experience in a scrap metal yard, warehouse, recycling or similar environment is preferred.

3 Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.

4 Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

5 Positive awareness of safety around heavy machinery and vehicles.

6 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $28.13 – $39.61 per hour
