Help private hospitals negotiate from evidence, not assumptionPrivate hospital leaders face increasing pressure around insurer negotiations, contract sustainability and commercial performance.
Empowered Health Analytics (EHA) combines independent benchmarking, healthcare funding analytics and advisory support to help private hospitals understand their commercial position and negotiate with stronger evidence.
Our core technology, the ROADS Platform (Revenue Optimisation and Decision Support), benchmarks hospital activity against relevant funding data and translates complex reimbursement patterns into clear commercial insight for executive teams.
Across participating hospitals, EHA’s work has already identified more than $26 million in potential revenue opportunity. We are now looking for an experienced healthcare commercial leader to help take that capability to more private hospitals across Australia.
The opportunityEHA is entering its next stage of commercial growth and is looking for a fractional commercial leader who can bridge the gap between sophisticated healthcare funding analytics and the priorities of hospital CEOs, CFOs and executive teams.
Working closely with EHA’s founders, technical specialists and marketing lead, you will help shape the go-to-market approach, build senior industry relationships and lead consultative sales of EHA’s benchmarking and advisory offering, powered by the ROADS Platform.
You will be supported by targeted marketing, content, industry events, sales materials and lead-nurture activity. This is not a role where you will be expected to create every opportunity in isolation. You will help ensure commercial outreach and marketing activity work together to build a credible, qualified pipeline.
The role combines a monthly retainer with uncapped commission and the opportunity to earn equity through clearly defined performance milestones. It may be particularly well suited to an experienced private hospital, health fund or healthcare commercial executive seeking a flexible portfolio role with meaningful influence and long-term upside.
What you will do
- Build a strong understanding of EHA, the ROADS Platform and the commercial value of its benchmarking and advisory capabilities.
- Help refine EHA’s go-to-market strategy, pricing, packaging and executive value proposition.
- Identify and prioritise private hospitals, day hospitals, hospital groups and relevant healthcare organisations.
- Build relationships with CEOs, CFOs, commercial leaders and health fund contracting teams.
- Translate complex funding and benchmarking insights into clear executive-level commercial conversations.
- Develop and manage a high-quality sales pipeline.
- Secure executive discussions, Benchmark Reviews and commercial proposals.
- Lead opportunities through discovery, evaluation, negotiation and contract execution.
- Work with EHA’s founders and technical specialists during demonstrations, analytical reviews and complex client discussions.
- Collaborate with EHA’s marketing lead on campaigns, content, events, lead nurturing and sales enablement.
- Provide market and customer insight to inform EHA’s product and commercial development.
As the client base grows, the role may also include responsibility for selected strategic relationships, renewals and expansion opportunities. The first 90 daysThe initial focus will be on establishing the commercial foundations for sustainable growth. This will include refining priority customer segments, reviewing the commercial offer, mapping target accounts and decision-makers, establishing a qualified pipeline and progressing the strongest opportunities toward Benchmark Reviews and commercial proposals.
EHA and the successful candidate will then agree on realistic pipeline, conversion and annual recurring revenue targets based on demonstrated market response and sales-cycle evidence.
Who we are looking forWe are particularly interested in candidates who combine a strong understanding of Australian private healthcare with the ability to develop and progress complex commercial opportunities.
Your experience is likely to include one or more of the following:
- Private hospital commercial management, finance, revenue or health fund contracting.
- Private health insurer provider contracting or hospital relationships.
- Healthcare funding, reimbursement, financial analytics or revenue optimisation.
- Healthcare consulting, advisory services or technology-enabled commercial solutions.
- Senior business development involving hospitals or healthcare executive teams.
You will also bring:
- The credibility to engage confidently with hospital CEOs, CFOs and senior commercial stakeholders.
- A strong understanding of how private hospitals, health funds and contracting relationships operate in Australia.
- The ability to understand data and analytical concepts and translate them into practical commercial value.
- Experience building relationships and progressing complex commercial opportunities.
- Strong negotiation, communication and executive presentation skills.
- A hands-on, self-directed approach suited to an early-stage business.
- Sound judgement and respect for the sensitivity of hospital funding data.
Existing relationships across the private hospital sector would be highly valued. Experience selling SaaS,
analytics or technology-enabled services is advantageous but not essential if you bring strong private healthcare commercial expertise. Commercial structureThis is an ongoing independent contractor opportunity, beginning at approximately two days per week. The arrangement will be reviewed after six months, with the intention of continuing and potentially expanding the role where agreed commercial milestones are being achieved.
Monthly retainer
- $4,000 plus GST per month for the first three months, reflecting the initial work required to understand the platform, refine the offer and establish the pipeline.
- $3,000 plus GST per month thereafter.
New-business commissionCommission will be calculated using progressive tiers based on attributable new annual recurring subscription revenue received by EHA during each financial year:
- 20% of the first $150,000 in new ARR.
- 25% of new ARR between $150,001 and $300,000.
- 30% of new ARR above $300,000.
Generating $300,000 in attributable new ARR would produce $67,500 in commission, in addition to the monthly retainer. Commission is uncapped. Detailed attribution, payment timing and qualifying-revenue definitions will be documented in the commercial agreement.
Renewal commissionWhere you remain actively responsible for the client relationship:
- 5% of qualifying Year 2 renewal revenue.
- 3% of qualifying Year 3 renewal revenue.
Performance-based equityThe successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn up to 1% equity in EHA through documented service and commercial performance milestones:
- 0.25% after at least 12 months of continued involvement and $150,000 in attributable new ARR.
- A further 0.25% upon reaching $300,000 in attributable new ARR.
- A further 0.5% upon reaching $500,000 in attributable new ARR and continuing in an agreed commercial leadership capacity.
The final structure, vesting conditions and legal documentation will be agreed before any equity is granted. Reasonable, pre-approved travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed separately.
Once EHA reaches an agreed recurring-revenue milestone, there may be an opportunity to transition into a larger fractional or salaried commercial leadership role.
Working arrangementsThe role is home-based and can be undertaken from anywhere in Australia, with national travel required for selected client meetings, industry events and commercial opportunities.
You will have flexibility over how and when the work is delivered within the agreed scope, while collaborating regularly with EHA’s founders, technical specialists and marketing lead.

- Your experience within Australian private healthcare.
- Your exposure to hospital funding, health fund contracting, commercial analytics or executive-level healthcare sales.
- The relationships and market perspective you would bring to EHA.
- Why this fractional, performance-led prospect is relevant to you.
- All discussions will be treated confidentially.
