Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse, Older Adult Community

Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Mental Health Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse to join our Older Adult community mental health team (SOACS) Specialist Older adult consultation service.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
This role requires an enthusiastic Psychiatric Enrolled medication endorses Nurse Grade 3. Having acute experience working in Mental health - including a passion caring for the older person.
You will have an awareness of the complexities of mental health in older persons.
Have sound assessment and risk assessment skills.
You will be working as a Contact Clinician.
You will be mobile, flexible and comfortable visiting a diverse range of Older adults in their home or aged care facilities.
You will be confident and comfortable working as part of team, seeking direct and support of the registered Nurse team members as required.
This role is for a fixed term Part Time position- 64 hours per fortnight
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Have current driver's license and confidant navigating the Northern and in particular the North west areas of Melbourne.
- Experience of least 5 years working in mental health.
- Demonstrated Mental Health assessment / risk assessment skills, as well as excellent documentation skills.
- Flexible and adaptable, and able to safely prioritise community care- having sound time management skills and able to work as a collaborative team member.
- Able to Escalate concerns re safety, quality and risk to appropriately to supervising PRN.
- Well-developed engagement skills, being able to work with older people from diverse / disenfranchised backgrounds. As well as Ability to undertake a range of interventions with consumers within scope of practice.
- Are registered as enrolled Nurse with APHRA and medication endorsed.
