Unlike many general practice settings, this is not transactional, high-volume medicine. Please note that Medicare billing restrictions apply to anyone who is an international medical graduate.

First Step is unable to employ international medical graduates unless you have lived in Australia for over 10 years already.

Based in St Kilda, we provide more than 14,000 free consultations each year to over 1,600 people experiencing some of life’s greatest challenges. Our integrated model of care has been recognised by the Victorian Royal Commission into Mental Health and is increasingly regarded as an example of high-quality, person-centred care. By bulk billing all patients, we remove financial barriers and ensure those who need care most can receive it.

What We Offer

- Flexible employment from 1 to 5 days per week.
