Role Overview

We are looking for a Functional & Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in the Retail domain. The role will have a 60% focus on Functional Testing and 40% focus on Test Automation, covering end-to-end application testing, regression testing, API validation, and automation of critical business workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Testing – 60%

- Perform end-to-end functional, system, integration, regression, and UAT testing for retail applications.
- Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria and create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate retail workflows such as product/catalog, pricing, promotions, order management, payments, inventory, customer, and returns.
- Execute test cases, identify defects, perform defect triage, and work closely with developers and business teams for resolution.
- Perform API testing to validate backend services and integrations.
- Support production validation and release testing across multiple environments.
- Ensure complete test coverage and maintain appropriate QA documentation.

Test Automation – 40%

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java/Python.




- Automate critical regression and repetitive functional test scenarios.
- Maintain and enhance automation frameworks using Page Object Model and reusable components.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and execute automated regression suites.
- Perform automation script debugging, maintenance, and failure analysis.
- Contribute to improving automation coverage and overall testing efficiency.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong experience in Functional Testing with a minimum 60% hands-on functional testing focus.
- Hands-on experience in Selenium WebDriver automation.
- Solid programming knowledge in Java or Python.
- Experience in API Testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Strong Retail / E-commerce domain experience.
- Good knowledge of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience in regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Good understanding of SQL/database validation.
- Experience with JIRA or similar defect/test management tools.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Cucumber/BDD.
- Jenkins, Git, GitHub/GitLab, or other CI/CD tools.
- Experience testing web and API-based retail applications.
- Knowledge of retail platforms involving Order Management, Inventory, Payments, Pricing, Promotions, and Customer Management.
