Lead the evolution of risk, resilience and governance at one of NSW's most important organisations.
This is more than a risk and compliance leadership role. It's an chance to shape how icare manages uncertainty, strengthens resilience and enables better outcomes for the people and communities of NSW.

Working closely with the Group Executive Governance, Risk & Compliance, Executive Leadership Team and Board, you'll play a critical role in strengthening organisational capability, embedding a strong risk culture and helping ensure icare remains resilient, trusted and future-ready.
About the role
This is a rare opportunity to influence enterprise-wide governance, risk and compliance at scale.
You'll lead a multidisciplinary function responsible for enterprise risk management, compliance, operational resilience, second line assurance and fraud intelligence. Leading a high-performing team, you'll combine strategic leadership with practical execution to strengthen risk maturity, enable transformation and support icare through an increasingly complex regulatory and operating environment.
You'll be equally comfortable partnering with executives on strategic decisions, engaging with regulators and the Board, and developing the capabilities and frameworks that enable the organisation to perform with confidence.
The scope
- Lead the evolution of enterprise risk, compliance and resilience capability across icare.
- Partner with executive leaders and the Board to strengthen governance, accountability and decision-making.
- Build organisational capability through risk culture,
leadership, assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish contemporary frameworks, governance practices and oversight capabilities that enable sustainable performance and resilience.
What you'll do
- Lead the strategy and delivery of enterprise risk management, compliance, operational resilience, second line assurance and fraud intelligence across icare.
- Drive risk and compliance maturity through contemporary frameworks, governance practices and enterprise capability uplift.
- Partner with executives and business leaders to provide trusted advice, challenge and insight on strategic and operational risks.
- Strengthen organisational resilience through effective oversight of emerging risks, significant incidents, business continuity and regulatory obligations.
- Foster a culture where risk ownership, accountability and ethical decision-making are embedded throughout the organisation.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team that delivers meaningful value to the business and those we serve.
- Provide high-quality insights and reporting to Executive, Board and governance forums, enabling informed decisions and effective oversight.
What you'll bring
- Significant executive leadership experience within risk, compliance, governance, resilience or assurance functions in large and complex organisations.
- A proven track record leading enterprise-wide transformation, capability uplift and organisational change.
- Experience operating at Chief Risk Officer, General Manager or equivalent executive level, with accountability across multiple risk disciplines.
- Strong understanding of governance, resilience,
compliance and risk management within highly regulated environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships with executives, regulators, Boards and external partners.
- A passion for building high-performing teams and creating a culture of accountability, resilience and continuous improvement.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution, bringing clarity to complexity and enabling confident decision-making.
