Cessnock Leagues Club is entering an exciting new phase - and are building the team to match. With a major redevelopment nearing completion, including the opening of a brand-new restaurant and newly renovated spaces, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Chef to join the growing kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a contemporary, community-focused Club and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our members and guests. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will contribute to the success of the new restaurant while helping maintain the high standards of quality, consistency and service that our members expect.
About the Role
As a Chef at Cessnock Leagues Club, you will be involved in all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations, helping deliver quality meals across restaurant, function and event service.
Day to Day You May Be:
- Preparing and presenting high-quality meals in line with menu standards
- Assisting with menu development, seasonal offerings and daily specials
- Maintaining consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control
- Supporting stock control, ordering and waste management processes
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and WHS standards are maintained
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Assisting with functions, events and special promotions
- Contributing to a positive, professional and efficient kitchen culture
About You
You are a qualified Chef or experienced Cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes pride in delivering quality food and exceptional service. You will bring:
- Trade qualifications in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in a busy restaurant, Club or hospitality venue
- Strong technical cooking skills and food knowledge
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
