Are you an organised, people-focused professional looking to take the next step in practice management? Northside Clinic is seeking a dedicated full-time or part-time Assistant Practice Manager / 2IC to join our team.

As Assistant Practice Manager / 2IC, you'll work closely with our Practice Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our busy medical centre, stepping in to lead the team in their absence, while also being a hands-on, visible presence on our reception desk.

Northside Clinic has a particular focus on providing quality medical care in a safe and friendly environment for the LGBTIQA+ and HIV positive communities in Melbourne’s inner north. We also provide General Practice care to the local community in Fitzroy North.

Your Impact & Responsibilities:

As our Assistant Practice Manager / 2IC, you'll be a key support to our Practice Manager and a familiar, reassuring face for our patients. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Operational Support: Assist the Practice Manager in the day-to-day running of the practice, stepping in to lead operations in their absence.

- Reception & Front Desk: Providing support to the team; greeting patients, managing appointment bookings, answering phones, and handling billing and enquiries.

- Team Leadership: Support a qualified, friendly, and service-focused work environment, helping to lead and support our multidisciplinary team.

- People & Culture: Assist with rostering, onboarding, and training for our reception team members.

- Administrative Support:



Provide broad administrative support across the practice, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

We're looking for a proactive and adaptable team player with a strong commitment to patient care. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

- Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a medical reception, administration, or management role within a GP or other medical specialist environment is essential.

- Exceptional Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills, with a patient-focused approach.

- Patient-Centric Approach: A positive and professional attitude coupled with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our patients.

- Tech-Savvy: Highly developed computer and IT skills, with proficiency with Best Practice software and scheduling software.

- Operational Acumen: The ability to manage the demands of daily practice operations, demonstrating strong adaptability and multitasking skills

Even Better If You Have:

- Prior experience in a 2IC, team leader, or assistant practice manager role.
- Prior accreditation experience.
