The Clinical Research Provisional Fellow in Endocrinologyat Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick (SCH), within The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN), will be required:

- To support clinical research trials in the development of evidence-based models of care for screening and management of chronic and complicated endocrine condition across the Network.
- To provide clinical support for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders at SCH as required.
- To participate in the on call roster for endocrinology and diabetes at SCH.

The Clinical Research Provisional Fellow position is a 24 month part time (0.53FTE) position to commence asap that will support three major studies to develop models of care for:

- Multidisciplinary management of craniopharyngioma.
- Screening and development of sustainable models of care for investigation and management of hypertension and dyslipidemia in survivors of childhood cancer.
- Screening for breast cancer as a second malignancy in survivors of childhood cancer.

The position involves primary responsibility for all aspects of these research studies under the supervision of the Endocrine team consultants at SCH, including development of models of care, ethics,



liaison with stakeholders, recruitment, participation in study visits (which may involve collection of clinical samples and venipuncture), sample processing, data collection, data analysis and manuscript preparation and collaboration with members of the research team in the day to day operation of the research project. The Fellow will assist the investigators and research nurses / study coordinators with recruitment and management of study participants. The Fellow will also provide clinical support for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. It is expected that the Fellow will spend at least half of their time on research activities, which includes them leading analysis and publication of results.

Selection Criteria:

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent. Those registered with the RACP, must have preferably completed a minimum 6 months as an advanced trainee with RACP (or equivalent) at commencement of Fellowship.
- Minimum of three years postgraduate experience.
- Demonstrated career interest or relevant experience in Diabetes and Endocrinology. Please provide details.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in development and implementation of models of care.




- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals. Please provide an example.
- Demonstrated understanding of and contribution to clinical research activities. Please provide details.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of research reports and/or peer reviewed manuscripts. Please provide an example.
