Looking for a senior leadership role combining commercial strategy with hands-on operational authority? iOpen is an established Australian industrial technology and automation company with 35+ years of experience. As we enter our next growth phase, we need a senior leader to drive revenue, optimise internal operations, and shape overall business performance.

Working directly alongside the Directors, you will act as the operational anchor for a lean, high-performing team and a visible leader for our key customer accounts.

What You Will Do

● Drive Commercial Growth: Identify and target high-value opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, develop strategic accounts, and close complex deals.

● Executive Customer Leadership: Serve as a trusted senior contact for key accounts, translating plant needs into practical automation and industrial technology solutions.

● Branch & Head Office Operations: Oversee daily head office and branch operations, ensuring workflows, customer service, delivery, and priorities are efficient and accountable.

● Team Leadership & Culture: Lead a close-knit team by setting clear priorities, removing operational bottlenecks, and fostering a collaborative, performance-focused culture.

● Strategic Execution: Partner directly with Company Directors to translate strategic priorities into measurable operating plans and consistent execution.

● Systems & Reporting: Strengthen operating rhythms, CRM usage, pipeline management, forecasting, delivery systems, and internal reporting.

● Business Performance Optimisation: Monitor business metrics, manage margins, identify risks, and drive timely action to boost revenue, customer outcomes, and productivity.

● Industry Representation: Represent iOpen with major customers, global vendors,



and industry partners.

The Expertise We Are Looking For

● Demonstrated track record in a senior dual commercial/operations role (such as General Manager, Head of Operations, Operations Manager, or Senior Business Development Manager).

● Strong commercial solution-selling capability, including deal negotiation, pipeline management, and strategic account growth.

● Industry knowledge in process control, industrial automation, or closely related technical sectors strongly preferred.

● Technical familiarity across industrial software, PLCs/process control systems, drives/motion, power quality, connectivity, sensing, or process measurement.

● Practical, visible leadership style capable of establishing accountability and momentum in a lean team environment.

● Sound commercial judgement, strong organisational skills, proficiency in CRM platforms, forecasting, and Microsoft Office applications.

Location & Working Style

● Based at our Head Office in Wollongong, NSW.

● Requires a strong, visible in-office presence to engage with the team and clients, with hybrid flexibility available.

Remuneration & Leadership Package

● Base Package: $135,000 – $180,000 + superannuation + company vehicle, fuel, and phone perks.

● Performance Upside: Meaningful performance-based bonus reflecting the results delivered across revenue, profitability and overall business performance.

● Long-Term Incentives: Potential for equity or phantom-equity participation for the right candidate who builds long-term business value.

● Direct Influence: Work directly with the Directors, with the authority to implement ideas quickly and shape operations.
