Position Description The Linesperson role is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance and commissioning of street lighting infrastructure, operating across voltage ranges from Low Voltage (LV) up to and including 11kV systems install and erect street lighting columns, luminaires, cables and equipment

Work on electrical systems from LV up to 11kV

Perform LV/HV cable installation, jointing and termination

Carry out pre-energisation and high-voltage testing

Commission street-lighting circuits, control systems and 11kV infrastructure

Conduct planned and reactive maintenance

Diagnose and repair electrical/street-lighting faults

Complete inspection, testing and compliance documentation

Follow WHS procedures, risk assessments, traffic management and PPE requirements

Identify and control electrical and workplace hazards

Requirements

Current A Grade Electrical Licence specifically for Linesperson duties

White Card (Construction Induction Training)

Valid Manual Driver’s Licence

CPR + Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) competency

Current First Aid Certificate

Valid High Risk Work Licence(s) relevant to electrical utility work





Experience working on LV to 11kV electrical systems

Experience in street lighting installation, maintenance and fault finding

Experience with LV/HV cable installation, jointing and termination

Knowledge of electrical safety, Australian Standards and licensing requirements

Ability to conduct testing, inspection and commissioning

Ability to complete site records, test documentation and as-built drawings

Strong WHS and safety awareness

Ability to perform risk assessments and use PPE correctly

Valuable English communication and teamwork skills
