About the role

Glenview Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Workers - Community to join our team in Wangaratta, VIC.

This is an Expression of Interest for part-time positions that plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of our community by providing essential in-home care services. As a Health Care Worker, you will be at the heart of our mission to help individuals maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life whilst remaining in their own homes. This role is fundamental to delivering personalised, person-centred care that makes a real difference to the lives of our clients.

Key responsibilities

- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming and dressing.
- Support clients with meal preparation, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences
- Undertake housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry and tidying to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting social engagement and wellbeing
- Assist with mobility and transferring, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment
- Monitor clients' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns to the line manager
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families and the broader care team
- Follow all health, safety and infection control protocols to ensure client and personal safety
- Respect client privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable and elderly individuals with compassion and respect
- Previous experience in aged care, disability support or community services.
- A current National Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to complete training
- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships




- Physical fitness and capability to assist with manual handling and mobility support
- A high level of reliability, punctuality and professional conduct
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to person-centred care and maintaining client dignity and independence
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as required
